Constitution of Research and Development Cell
ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-26
Preamble
In alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, this institution establishes a Research and Development Cell (RDC) to foster a robust research ecosystem, promote innovation, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations.
Objective
The RDC aims to:
- Promote research culture among faculty and students.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research initiatives.
- Coordinate research activities across departments.
- Enhance research output in terms of quality publications, patents, and funded projects.
- Establish collaborations with industry, academia, and research organizations.

Tenure
- Members shall serve for a term of two academic years.
- Student representatives shall serve for one academic year.
- Members may be re-nominated for subsequent terms.
Functions and Responsibilities
The RDC shall:
- Develop and implement research policies and guidelines.
- Identify thrust areas and promote research initiatives in these domains.
- Facilitate the submission of research proposals for funding.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance research skills.
- Monitor ongoing research projects and ensure timely completion.
- Encourage publication in reputed journals and support patent filing.
- Establish collaborations with external research institutions and industry partners.
- Maintain a database of research activities and achievements.
Meetings
- The RDC shall meet at least once every quarter.
- Additional meetings may be convened as required.
- A minimum of 50% of the members, including the Chairperson or Convener, shall constitute the quorum.
Amendments
- Any amendments to this constitution shall be proposed by the RDC and approved by the Head of the Institution.
- Amendments shall align with the latest UGC guidelines and institutional policies.
